Gianmarco Montanari

Gianmarco Montanari is the City Manager (ie Managing Director) of the City of Turin, reporting directly to the Mayor Piero Fassino, where he replaced in April 2013 the former Director Mr. Cesare Vaciago.
On behalf of the City Council has organized the TIEF - Turin Islamic Economic Forum, the first international meeting sponsored by a local institution in Europe to explore the themes of economics and Islamic finance: an opportunity to attract qualified investments and develop the economy local.
Gianmarco Montanari graduated 110/110 within 5 years in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, starting to play at the same time small jobs and internships, and conducting an interim period in the Netherlands, thanks to the Erasmus program.
Started 24 years as Controller and Assistant CFO in a Swiss multinational firm in the automotive industry, beginning a career that took him to top management positions in private and public companies, in different industries: manufacturing, services, banking, central public administration.
He committed in continuous professional development achieving degrees in Business and Management Administration, in Political Science and in Law; and high specializations in management in prestigious business schools: the French INSEAD, American Columbia University, the Swiss IMD and the Italian Bocconi.
He was honored in 2012 as a graduate year at the University of Economics in Turin.
He was awarded of Chevalier of Merit of the Italian Republic.
He is 'Testimonials' Ex Alumni for the Politecnico di Torino.
He wrote the book, The Samsung Way, explaining the success of a industrial leader such as Samsung Corporation and a growing country like South Korea in parallel with the industrial history of Italy from reconstruction period to the present.
He is Board Member of GTT SpA and member of the Steering Committee of the Italian Digital Agency.
